
The band has, in the past, benefitted from financial support from the local authority in the form of a contribution to the Musical Director’s Fees, an annual grant and the provision of a free rehearsal room; this sadly came to an end in April 2011 as a result of the cuts that had to made to the council budget.
We therefore find ourselves reluctantly asking our supporters for a contribution to help us continue to entertain you with our music in the years to come. You will receive regular newsletters and discounts on Band merchandise, as well as the satisfaction that you have helped the Band in its continuing development.
We would like to invite you to become a ‘Friend of the Wakefield Metropolitan Band’ with a minimum donation of just £20 per year.
