The band has, in the past, benefitted from financial support from the local authority in the form of a contribution to the Musical Director’s Fees, an annual grant and the provision of a free rehearsal room; this sadly came to an end in April 2011 as a result of the cuts that had to made to the council budget.
We therefore find ourselves reluctantly asking our supporters for a contribution to help us continue to entertain you with our music in the years to come.
For a ‘friend’ we offer a discount on Concert tickets when ordered through the band. You will also receive a quarterly newsletter and discounts on band merchandise, as well as the satisfaction that you have helped the band in its continuing development.
We would like to invite you to become a ‘Friend of the Wakefield Metropolitan Band’ with a minimum donation of just £20 per year.
